The cat is out of the bag and we all know that the Royal Enfield Scram 450 is coming. We are considering test mules for Scrum 450 from May 2022. It was first spotted testing alongside its ADV sibling, the Himalayan 450. These are likely to be sold along with the current Himalayan and Scram 411. Rendering artist Pratyush Raut has written his own version of Scrum 450. Let’s take a look.

A new platform is being developed at Royal Enfield. This 450cc platform boasts of a more tech-savvy engine with more power and torque reserve. It is being said that it will get 6-speed gearbox, liquid cooling, LED lighting and more. It is clear that Royal Enfield Scram 450 will be positioned below the Himalayan 450.

We say this because the Himalayan 450 has a lot of equipment that the Scram 450 lacks. For example, the Scram 450 lacks front USD forks, split seats, rear luggage rack, spoke wheels, front windshield and a few other things. All these are found on the Himalayan 450. Our renders include all of these elements based on the test mules seen so far.

The name could be Scream 450 or the company may be willing to go with other names like the already trademarked Guerrilla 450. Pratyush Raut sticks to the classic Royal Enfield design DNA that the brand has used on the Scram 411. The rendering of the Scram 450 on the fuel tank is similar to that of the Himalayan 450. Our render also features a colour-coded tank extension with Royal Enfield letters. Royal Enfield logo is also found on the fuel tank. Our render features an attractive ribbed single-piece seat, a clean tail section with LED turn indicators.

The Scram 450 gets a circular instrument console that is inclined towards the rider. This ensures that the information on that screen will remain in the rider’s peripheral vision at all times. Other styling elements on the Scram 450 render are coded headlight cowls, fork gaiters, LED turn indicators and a cleaner overall profile.

Specifications and Features

The Himalayan 450 is on the verge of launch, the production of which has recently started. Scrum 450 may launch at a later date. He said, if Royal Enfield deems it appropriate, further amendments may be made. Our renders replicate some of the design features that Royal Enfield has previously implemented in terms of colours, branding and finishes.

The new engine is a 450cc unit with liquid cooling and DOHC. It is more likely that this new engine may develop more than 40 bhp and 40 Nm of torque. In contrast, the 411cc engine that currently powers the Himalayan and Scram 411 makes 24 bhp and 32 Nm.

Modern features like 6-speed gearbox and liquid cooling will be provided. The launch timeline has not been officially confirmed yet. Given the company’s extensive testing history, the Royal Enfield Scram 450 will be launched in mid-2023 or later. Post launch, the main rivals of the Scram 450 are the Triumph Scrambler 400X and the upcoming KTM 390 Enduro, which has been spotted testing alongside the 390 Adventure and Hero’s XPulse 440.
